I'm not sure why this is disabled by default at this point, it's been well tested by now. It's a significant performance improvement to database workloads (according to here: https://www.phoronix.com/news/MGLRU-July-2022-Performance) and at worst it might have minimal performance regressions in certain tasks, although that may have been ironed out from version 5.19 to 6.9
