I have Leap 15.1 installed, yes - it is still the primary OS.

As suggested, I installed the current 15.1 kernel
(kernel-default-4.12.14-lp151.28.52.1.x86_64) on my 15.2 installation. After a
reboot, the Realtek NIC is in fact present, just like when running Leap 15.1
proper.
