Worked ok with some minor hiccups at the end with  umount -a

Boots now, but I seem to be unable to change the monitor resolution which
is stuck at  1400s x something with no other options in the dropdown, thus I
will
go back to the 15.2 snapshot for awhile.  Will play with it some more later.
