Hi,
today I hat my first contact with webp files. Sadly the KDE applications in openSUSE (using Tumbleweed) do not support webp images. I read on the web (https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=736574) that libwebp needs to be a build dependency of kde-runtime for such support. Is this missing in openSUSE? Can it be added?
Regards, Marcel Witte

Hi,
It would be great if you could indicate the version of kdebase4-runtime and which openSUSE version you are running. I checked kdebase4-runtime for Tumbleweed and there we have libwebp already as a buildrequirement.

You're right, kdebase4-runtime has that dependency already (I've installed 14.12.3-1.1 from Tumbleweed repo).
But dolphin has no thumbnails for webp images and gwenview (4.14.3-1.2) displays only an error message that it does not know how to open image/webp.
