[opensuse-kde] Konqueror KDE4(.0.1) not working at all
I just wondered, as I read nowhere about this problem: Konqeror (KDE4) has been practically unusable for me for several weeks, using the factory repo. It cannot render _any web page at_ all and always times out with an "unknown error". Firefox and Konqueror (KDE3) work flawlessly. Also, the scan for Netscape plugins (on 64bit) always fails at 30%. Am I the only one having this problems??? I mean, I am one of the old-fashioned KDE users for whom Konqueror is a central element of KDE, and this central element has been unusable for quite some time. And nobody else seems to have a problem?! --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Why are you using the factory repo? Or are you running alpha-testing 11.0? The factory repo is using package builds for 4.0.63, at least AFAIK, which is the developmental version of KDE 4.1. It is highly unstable. If you want something usable for day-to-day, you're much better off using the KDE:/KDE4/STABLE repo, which will give you KDE 4.0.1. Hope this helps? Yes - that's what the factory repo is good for, isn't it ;) ?

No, I think we are talking about different sets of repositories here. Let me put it clearer: I'm using the openSUSE 11.0 factory repo, which currently includes KDE 4.0.1 RPMs (which in turn AFAIK are pulled from time to time from the KDE4 stable repo you are mentioning). I am NOT using the KDE4 unstable repo, which would include pre 4.1 packages. I am, however, regularly updating the openSUSE factory packages, and here Konqueror has never been working for me since alpha 1 or something like that. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Sorry, that was my bad. I thought for some reason that 11.0 was using the 4.1 snapshots, hence my self-inflicted confusion... ;) Cheers, KV --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Works for me, albeit using the same 4.0.1 packages on 10.3. Have you double checked that all your packages are the latest available (yast2 sw_single is good for doing that at a glance), since libzypp is in flux and may be telling lies. The packages are up-to-date (though currently factory update seems to be completely broken, that's right). Also did a cross-check with smart. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
