[opensuse-kde] Qt 4.5 with KDE 4.2
What's the opinion from openSUSE KDE on using Qt 4.5 with KDE 4.2? It seems some of the plasma developers say this is not a good idea. For instance, Sebas says http://vizzzion.org/?blogentry=906 some more complex 4.2 Plasmoids contain workarounds for problems in Qt 4.4 that aren't needed in Qt 4.5. These workarounds are incompatible with Qt 4.5. Is this just another nail in the coffin for KDE 4.2 and openSUSE 11.2? -- Marc Benstein -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

The only thing I've heard are the plasma developers blogs which recommend against it. I've already switched to the KDE:/Qt44 repository because I have no interest in testing Qt 4.5 during its RC releases.

It's possible that compatible workarounds are added to KDE 4.2 in maintenance releases. Either way, I was fairly sure the current plan was to ship KDE 4.3 w/ openSUSE 11.2. -- Boyd Stephen Smith Jr. ,= ,-_-. =. bss@iguanasuicide.net ((_/)o o(\_)) ICQ: 514984 YM/AIM: DaTwinkDaddy `-'(. .)`-' http://iguanasuicide.net/ \_/
