[opensuse-kde] Missing panel on non native resolution
HI guys, I've old monitor 1280x1024 but sometimes I need a 16:9 resolution (1280x720). The configuration module in systemsetting does no offer 16:9 resolution. Worth reporting upstream ? I can change the resolution with nvidia-settings but I've two panels: default on bottom and another on top. At 1280x720 the bottom panel is missing. There's a empty area where I can see the desktop background but it's not usable by application. Bug ? Do I need to report upstream ? Bottom panel is restored after switching back to 1280x1024 resolution... Does xrandr offer the resolutions you want? I think most of these kinds of problems is most likely on a deeper level than kscreen. I.e. in the hardware itself, drivers or X. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Does xrandr offer the resolutions you want? No: Screen 0: minimum 8 x 8, current 1280 x 1024, maximum 16384 x 16384 VGA-0 connected primary 1280x1024+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 376mm x 301mm 1280x1024 60.02*+ 75.02 1152x864 75.00 1024x768 75.03 70.07 60.00 800x600 75.00 72.19 60.32 56.25 640x480 75.00 72.81 59.94 DVI-D-0 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) HDMI-0 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)

Anyway, to fix the "ghost panel" using nvidia-settings: 1280x1024->1280x720(ghost panel here)->1152x864->1280x720(fine!) Something similar for switching back to 1280x1024 I badly need a new monitor :) Daniele. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
