[opensuse-kde] Importing OpenVPN configurations in KNetworkManager?
I'm using a paid VPN service. They use OpenVPN, and provide the cert file and a stack of configuration files. In Gnome Network Manager, I have an option to import these config files, and it all works very well.. couple of clicks (Click Import, enter user/password, click OK) and I've got the VPN server set up and ready to use. In KDE4 though... it's not so "easy". First issue is... there is no obvious way to import the config files. I can Add a new OpenVPN connection, but then I must try to interpret the contents of the config file and guess what goes where... I'd much ratehr import the config as I can in Gnome. Have I missed something? Or is this another example of where KDE4 is not quite there yet - like I said, in Gnome it works perfectly... Take gnome sources, take a good kdedev docs, and propose a patch. Or open a request in openFATE, or kde bugzilla. So perhaps some developper can catch that idea, and see if they want to implement it. :-) In my point of view I really prefer controlling each step of such configuration even if I have to setup personnally 12 openvpns to connect to some external networks. -- Bruno Friedmann (irc:tigerfoot) Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch openSUSE Member User www.ioda.net/r/osu Blog www.ioda.net/r/blog fsfe fellowship www.fsfe.org GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 vcard : http://it.ioda-net.ch/ioda-net.vcf -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
