Hi Everybody, there are some questions open in my moving from Outlook to Kmail: 1. use of arrow keys in email list currently the arrow keys are only active in the bottom frame showing the contents of the highlighted mail. I would like to page through the list of emails using the keys. Is that possible and if yes, what do I have to do? Tab does not work. 2. KMail and offline use Is it possible to start KMail in offline modus, so that I do not get this error message after some time, when I send in email into the outbox? 3. It would be nice to have Reply/send buttons together with the opened mail. Does anybody know, whether this is planned? 4. close email window with Escape? (Yes, I do come from outlook and do not wnat to use the mouse everytime I want to close the window) 5. data import/export: As I try to find a way to export data from my Nokia Communicator into Kmail, I looked at the data import/export functionality. However the numer of fields and the sorting of the fields seem to be a problem. Does anybody have experience with import of CSV files into specific fields in Kamil? Thanks for your help. Left and Right arrow (or P and N) move previous and next. Up and Down moves in the current mail. Use numeric + to move to next unread. numeric - to previous unread. You can enable "wrapping/looping" when finding unread mail in Settings - Configure KMail - Miscellaneous - Loop in the current folder ... Don't know (remember) what tab does in Outlook...

I don't think so. A possible solution, maybe a little too complex, is to setup a local mailserver to avoid this problem.
4. close email window with Escape? (Yes, I do come from outlook and do not wnat to use the mouse everytime I want to close the window)
Read in the preview pane. Quicker and easier if you get used to it. /Stefan
Hi Stefan and Patrick, Thanks for your help on my questions. I did blush on the answer for 1. But no one around here knew. The rest I anticipated somehow, but maybe someone uses the wishlist as there might be lots of others, who switch from outlook to kmail. Thanks again and I will follow your recommendation, Patrick, and post fewer questions per mail in future. Sebastian Am Montag, 27. Mai 2002 20:03 schrieb Stefan Nilsen:

I would like to page through the list of emails using the keys. Is that possible and if yes, what do I have to do? Tab does not work. ======================= Try the left & right arrow keys to move thru the mails. Also P & N will move you thru the mails. You can also use the Page Up & Page Down keys to page thru the mail you are reading and if you scroll wheel is working on your mouse, you might find that helpful too!
2. KMail and offline use Is it possible to start KMail in offline modus, so that I do not get this error message after some time, when I send in email into the outbox? ====================== The best thing to do here is turn off the setting that that requires your mailer to send each time it checks mail. Would be nice to maybe make this a menu selection as it proves helpful when online.
3. It would be nice to have Reply/send buttons together with the opened mail. Does anybody know, whether this is planned? =================== Agree with you here, have never really understood why there was not a send button as well as a check mail button? I guess because of the setting to send when you check that causes problems when you are doing offline mail. ;o)
4. close email window with Escape? (Yes, I do come from outlook and do not wnat to use the mouse everytime I want to close the window) ======================= Try Ctrl-Q for quiting, works equally as well, only requires an extra finger and it is on the same side of the keyboard as the Esc key!
5. data import/export: As I try to find a way to export data from my Nokia Communicator into Kmail, I looked at the data import/export functionality. Does anybody have experience with import of CSV files into specific fields in Kamil? ======================= I can't help you here, but am sure some more experienced SuSE user here might be able to shed some light on this last question. Also, you might want to limit the number of questions you ask in one email, usually you will get more responses that way. :o)
Thanks for your help.
