[opensuse-kde] KDE SC 4.4 in the openSUSE Build Service
With the release of KDE SC 4.4, we're making some repository changes in the openSUSE Build Service, effective immediately: * The KDE:43 repository becomes redundant with the merge of 4.3.5, the final KDE SC 4.3 release, into KDE:KDE4:STABLE:Desktop. * KDE:43 will be deleted. * KDE SC 4.4.0 is now in KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop where it is available for openSUSE 11.2 and older. It will be worked on as we move towards openSUSE 11.3. Since 11.3 is due at about the same time KDE SC 4.5 will be released, we do not need a separate KDE:44 repository. When 11.3 is released, KDE SC 4.4 will become the version in KDE:KDE4:STABLE:Desktop and KDE SC 4.5 will be under development in KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop. * KDE SC 4.4. based Live CD and 11.2 Reloaded isos will be available soon So if you are: A vanilla openSUSE 11.2 user, waiting for the online update to 4.3.5: * Go back to sleep. The online update has been pushed and should be with you shortly. An updated KDE 4.3 user: * Remove KDE:43 if you still have it and use KDE:KDE4:STABLE:Desktop now. A KDE 4.4.0 beta tester: * Add KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop and report any issues you find. A wild-eyed kamikaze flying squirrel: * Use KDE:KDE4:UNSTABLE:Desktop (What will be KDE SC 4.5 in 5 months time) and don't complain to us if it eats your mail or laundry. Hmm, which KDE:KDE4:Community should I use then? With KDE:43, I am using KDE:KDE4:Community:openSUSE_11.2_KDE_43. But, there is no KDE:KDE4:Community:openSUSE_11.2_KDE4_STABLE_Desktop repository? Use KDE:KDE4:Community:openSUSE_11.2 some build numbers will be different but they are the same thing.
