First of all, "xhost +localhost"
doesn't work in suse 9.1, since X
tcp by default
... ok, I didn't know that. I still am happy with 9.0. :-)
Second, from a security standpoint, "xhost
+" and "xhost +local:" do
... well, not quite. If this is your PC connected to the internet then
the difference is significant.
Third, even that doesn't work at all. A bug in (I
think) gtk means
authentication is turned on at all in X, firefox (and the rest of the
series) will fail (if and only if it is the first time you run it, the
problem is with the 'import settings' dialog that gets shown the first
you run it). sux fails because of this, sadly
... if this is true then there's only one alternative: Download it,
disconnect from the net, install it and then reconnect to the net. :-)
