[opensuse-kde] KDE Connect Maintenance
Hello everyone, I'd like to contribute to the maintenance of the KDE Connect package, though I'm not sure who the maintainer is (or if there even is one at the moment). I checked here: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/ openSUSE:Factory/kdeconnect-kde and sent a message to Dominique, though she told me I should ask here. kdeconnect-kde5 is collectively handled by the openSUSE community KDE team, but hasn't a specific maintainer. If you want to contribute to its maintenance, you're very welcome! You may want to start by submitting submit requests to the main package, which is currently kept in KDE:Extra. Hi Luca, thanks for your reply! I apologize for my late reply, it's been a busy week at work. Anyways, I'm a web developer/sysadmin and I'm learning C, so I figured helping out with some package maintenance would be a good way to get started and eventually help out with upstream development as well. I guess I would be particularly interested in helping patch bugs and testing/packaging new releases, but I'm open to suggestions as well. Please let me know if there is anything I could do. A relatively easy task would be to check if KDE:Extra holds the newest package, and if not, update it to the latest version. You can check out[1] and [2] and then look at the package in KDE:Extra and see if it needs updates. Afterwards, you can branch the package (the first link has some instructions), make your changes, test them, then submit them back to KDE:Extra (submit request). If you have further questions, post them here (or general packaging questions to the opensuse-packaging maling list). And what exactly do you mean with "the main repo"?
