[opensuse-kde] kdesu unable to login
I'm running openSUSE 11.1, with kde 4.1, and I can't seem to get kdesu to get my root password right. I can login via su or su -l or from a terminal just fine, but kdesu always says incorrect password and doesn't allow me to run it. Which makes installing software a real drag! Oh, and I've tried the hacks mentioned on the web for getting kdesu to use sudo and not require login at all, but that doesn't help. And I don't mind typing in my root password (that worked fine under 11.0). A little stranger is that, when I log into another account created after installing 11.1, kdesu works just fine. But my account, who's HOME folder predates 11.1 (I believe it was new with my 11.0 install), still doesn't work. There's got to be some kind of magic resource that is messing it up. I tried rebooting after renaming .kde4 and .kde folders to no avail. Maybe some kind of weird language mapping thing? Nothing else seems broken though. -- Jonathan Arnold (mailto:jdarnold@buddydog.org) Daemon Dancing in the Dark, an Open OS weblog: http://linux.amazingdev.com/blog/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
