[opensuse-kde] When can we expect a solution to the missing KDE-samba module?
Hi, I hope there will be some answer to this question, as from the start i did not get one...;) Without this module, there will allways be a non-working password requester prevent to access my shares... -- Enjoy your time around, Oddball (Now or never...) For now, i would also be happy with a way to disable this requester... -- Enjoy your time around, Oddball (Now or never...) What do you mean exactly? I can access my 10.3 samba-server using Dolphin on11.0b1 without issues. My workflow is this: Ctrl+L to get a usable location bar -> enter 'smb://<ip-address-of-server>' -> enjoy --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

This is not what i mean, i can 'see' all shares without any problem, only accessing them is impossible, due to this request for password... look at screenshots.. -- Enjoy your time around, Oddball (Now or never...) Well. Sure it's an issue with the client and not the security settings on the samba-server? .. As I can not only see but also _access_ my shares (I access them as "guest"). --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

No, 10.3 is np at all, i can set the kde-samba module to allow guest- logins, or i can set a password. (there was a problem also, with a void, the admin modus did not appear, but that is solved) But, when you are not able to set a guest login, the password requester asks for a password, which does not exist, because it cannot be set. ;) That is the problem. If it was up to me, the samba settings were more than enough.. I did never understand why kde-settings overruled the samba- settings... Remember that all other shares: windows, and 10.2, 10.3, can be accessed. -- Enjoy your time around, Oddball (Now or never...)
