Hi Does anyone know where this program went or what its replacement is? I can't find another way to start my printer after its been stopped - usually by me unplugging it when i move my laptop, and then forgetting to plug it back in before I switch the laptop back on again. regards Ian

It still is there. Maybe you have to enable it in KDE's control center (desktop -> Panels -> menu's and then anable it in 'optional menu's'. Other ways: - in konqueror side panels it is there under 'services' - In every browser (cups default interface): http://localhost:631 New install? Do not forget to set a password for the cups admin via lppasswd -g sys -a root Peter

Hmm, not really - it's an additional menu. Easiest solution: it is available in the /tools/printers menu (translated from Dutch). Drag it from there, Solution that shows you how you can solve things if it is not there (like this i created profiles for browsing pictures at icon size for my family): But you can make an icon as follows by creating a new konqueror profile: I will elaborate on this because a lot of people never do this (and it is very powerfull!) First create the profile: Open konqueror (for instance via the 'home' icon on your kicker/toolbar) Change the location (URL) into: print:/manager Change toolbars, size and such at your liking. Save the profile with a name like 'Printmanager' (via Menu -> setup -> setup profiles (translated!) Then create an icon: Create a new 'link to application' on your desktop (or drag a konqueror icon to the desktop) and change the command into 'kfmclient openProfile Printmanager' Change the icon into something nice by cicking on the icon and picking something printer-like. Another possibility: add the available applet to the kicker. KDE is ;-) Peter
