-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 An interesting problem has come in the latest version of the beta. 1st some info... Running cups and samba.. printing to a canon 4200 using the bjc600 driver. Everthing worked fine under 3.1.4. Now none of the kde app type programs will only print bar at the bottom w/ the file name in the shadding (even though banners is turned off). Nothing else on the page. However when I print with say, open office it works fine. Just the kde (kate, kwrite even kdevelop) I checked bugs.kde and didn't see anything.. But before I submit it I would like to know if anyone else had this problem. - -- Adolph & Sharon Weidanz S/V Time To Paws 43' 1978 Endeavour Ketch -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (MingW32) iD8DBQFAFGbLlC+PSm9+eB0RAkswAJsEgk7/wSi5Vm1XZMvZjEqi6agZcgCff+If R9SOh8qTb+TN+jHWpd3M/ro= =ZPGy -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Make sure that OO and KDE are writing to the same print queue. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org

Ok... as far as I know they are both trying to print to 'canon' on cups local host 631(?)
My print command for OO is: lpr -P esp925gp in cups (localhost:631) is: esp925gp are you saying that you print in OO to 'lpr -P canon' and cups has a printer named (Default Destination) 'canon' ??? -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org

What happens when you: :~> lpr -P canon <some text file> does it print properly? What does kprinter have listed for printer 'name'? What does kprinter have listed for 'Print system currently used:' -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org
