[opensuse-kde] Rendering quirks in taskbar panel KDE 4.0.1
Hi all, For the last two or three updates from /KDE4:/STABLE:/, my taskbar panel seems to be somewhat corrupted. I've attached a clipped portion from a screenshot, you can see that the wallpaper shows through on the left and right. Since taking that screenshot, it also appears in the bottom, but I won't bother creating a new screenshot. As well, the "gradient" rendering on top of the taskbar is a little coarser than I remember. The panel looked proper (?) from the time I started using 4.0.0, nice, shiny, and full width and depth. It just seems that over the last couple of updates it has borked. I ignored it at first, figuring it would be one of those things that corrected itself on the next update. Has anyone else seen this? Should I file this as an openSUSE bug or KDE? Only reason I'm asking is that I know openSUSE backported some of the plasma patches to 4.0.1 from trunk, so I'm not sure if the KDE devs would accept it as a bug report. Cheers, KV

I changed my graphics card in the time it changed, so I thought it was a driver issue. Maybe it still is but was not triggered before. Do you use the nvidia binary driver? Yes, I'm using the nvidia driver. So you're seeing a similar rendering problem? I've been using the same driver for a while now, it's just the last couple of /KDE:/KDE4: updates over the last week or two where this has become evident. I'm seeing the same thing here with the NVIDIA driver. -- Regards Scott Newton --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Yes I get that too and some funny rectangles when hovering buttons after switching to another virtual desktop. They go away when I click somewhere. If this was a regression you should file a bug I guess. Please add me to the CC or post the bug-number here. Hello! This strange strange look of the panel have also appeared on my computer with Intel graphics card after a recent update. I have been experimenting with the colour of the panel by changing the fill colour of all its parts to gray (#AAAAAA). First it looked rather well, but after an update two black rectangles at left and right appeared and also a black line at the bottom (similar to transparent parts in Kevin's screenshot). Bye!
