I'd like to 'organize' my desktop-icons depending on which of the virtual desktops is active. Just like it is possible with windows of active programs. I kind of desktop-depended kicker could be an alternative. Any suggestions? Regards, Tobias.
How about using xmtoolbar? I think you could have different instances running on different desktops (tho I'm not sure about this...). HTH Markus Am Mittwoch, 6. November 2002 15:00 schrieb Tobias Crefeld:

I don't think it is possible. KDE recognizes only one desktop folder. I don't see how you could change it on the fly when switching desktop... If there is a possibility, try to have a look a kdcop. You will find in this little program the name of all the calls emitted and received by KDE clients (which includes the desktop and the window manager). You could try to catch the signal of a change of desktop (it is in client kwin) and do something to kdesktop (addIcon, etc) or kicker (addNonKDEAppButton, etc) when it happens. Honestly, I don't think it is really feasible, but if you succeed, let us know! - -- Thibaut Cousin E-mail : cousin@in2p3.fr Web : http://clrwww.in2p3.fr -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE9ySPwv1vqsTa1E4oRAlsxAJwPjbZZfrNUWO9NlbR4S9Wxc6NDbACg0JcB z2CJCzqspO+zk6VjAjo6Y+4= =ZP1U -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
