[opensuse-kde] Digital clock and date format..

Hi guys, it seems that after years we still have a very limited date format :( I'am trying Leap 42.2 in vbox, is there a way to get my preferred date format (dd/mm/yyyy) back ?? Right-click on the digital clock and choose "Digital Clock Settings". There are some date formats available to choose there. If that doesn't offer what you want, you'd have to change the time locale in "Configure Desktop"/systemsettings5->Regional Settings->Formats to one that suits your needs. Custom time/date formats are not possible, unless you create your own locale, but I cannot tell you how to do that. uhmm no.. Changing date format change too much..

Custom ?!? Never was since kde 1 ! It's default format here (Italy) ! Time to stress some devs, they really need to bring back Klocale. Thanks, Daniele. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

This is a *very hard* task to take, since the support must go into Qt and needs to support all the platforms Qt supports. Getting date formats right in this way (including local / regional quirks) is a very hard and unrewarding task. It's likely that someone will need to fund its development, because according to the KDE developer which attempted this, it's a very difficult problem to tackle when you only have so much time on your hands. -- Luca Beltrame - KDE Forums team GPG key ID: A29D259B

"must go" ?!? dozens of frameworks/libs and we miss such easy function.. I'm not ranting, I'm just wonder about it.. Anyway, I'm wrong or is there a way changing the qml file ? I remember something about it but I'm not sure :| Thanks, Daniele. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
