How do I change the kdm background

Hi, I'm tweaking my new SuSE 10 installation and ran into trouble changing the background of the login screen. How does one get rid of the blue, full screen login panel SuSE installs and replace it with the old small grey one? I can live without the clock but I had a background I liked to use and this new login screen covers it up. I'd also like to customize the greeting but that also does not take effect when I change it (using admin mode) in the Login Manager YAST screen. I've gone back a couple of months in the archives of this list so if it's been discussed here before please point me to the thread. Similarly, I've not found anything helpful Googling either. I've always updated it via Control Centre/System Administration/Login Manager/Background in Suse 9.3

So have I. I don't understand why it isn't working this time around. -- Frank Holt University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee I&MT Technical Services Senior Dept. of Technical Solutions Phone : (414) 229-2982 Fax : (414) 229-6389 e-mail: frankh@uwm.edu
