I don't know if this will solve my problem but I found one note in Suse Support about this problem : "When you try to start single YaST2 modules from the KDE Control Center, you only obtain a grey screen" this is what is happenning in my computer after updating to KDE 3.0.4 from original KDE 3.0.0 then in this note instruct to download the files : Kdebase3-SuSE.rpm & susewm.rpm from sites : ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/update/8.0/kde1/ & ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/update/8.0/xwm1/ and install with : rpm -Uhv package_name.rpm. This in principle have to solve my problem but also Patrick commented to me that "SuSE 8.0 kde files had a bug in the kdelibs3 update files and could cause some of the problems you mentioned. The solution was to compile from the src.rpm of kdelibs3 for your system and then install that resulting rpm. That would cure any problems you were experiencing." Then I downloaded the kdelibs3-3.0.5-0.i386.rpm for updating directly to KDE 3.0.5 and also kdebase3-3.0.4-32.i386.rpm but I don't know if I have to install 1st this and after kdebase3-Suse.rpm or it doesn't matter. Also I downloaded qt3-non-mt-3.0.5.i386.rpm.
I hope that with all this updates I will be able to run KDE 3.0.5 propertly in my SUSE 8.0.
I will advise to you my result, also if anybody knows abt this problem and already solved it pls advise. Brgds Miguel
