[opensuse-kde] Troubles with a user: KDE presents "dump core" by several processes and X gives strange messages.
I do not know if a) this is x related b) kde related c) if I should raise a bug? Kded5 and launcher give often these coredumps. When this user is open, the temperature of the system rises sometimes from a normal 50-70 C to 99 to 100 C with occasional emergency shutdown. The system also crashes with all users to a black screen and subsequent shutdown in an irregular way. What is seen as a relation is: suspend to ram or powersafe and restart triggers these crashes especially if entropia has kontact running. Although it is a quite violent crash (all users gone in one second) no apparent failure is commented in journalctl when it happens (as it seems. But maybe it is the coredump?). First of all, I'll try to fix this. If the system is doing nothing, 50-70 is too high. So, it seems that your system overheat and become unstable. Maybe you need to remove some dust ? or cat hair :-) I had a laptop that consistently overheated and shut down. It didn't matter if I was using it on the bed or on the couch, but for some reason if I used it on the desk or a table it didn't overheat. The system is a Lenovo X201 (which is at times subject to fan problems, but I did change the fan recently (2 month) and it got a new fan and copper body, as well as a good termal paste. As it seams the temperature is result and not origin of the problem. The core-2-duo has two cpu and multithreading. When it overheats that means often

akonadiserver (15-25 % of CPU) and msql (up to 20% of CPU. The rest are various processes many related to kontact/akonadi/kmail This corresponds to the core dumps of kded that are results of the crashes and bring down all users at once.
