[opensuse-kde] Lockscreen problems
Hi, since the last update I have a problem with the lockscreen, mainly after a suspend to ram. The laptops wakes up fine, shows the lockscreen as supposed. When I enter the password, the screen goes black. All I can do is killing the GUI by pressing ctrl-alt-backspace. I can't change to a console or anything. The mouse is showing and moving, that's all. If I deaktivate the lockscreen after suspend there is no problem, so I guess it is a problem with the lock screen. System: OS 12.2 KDE4.10 from K:R:4.10 all updates installed. Lenovo Thinkpad T500 Intel graphic Mobile 4 series Is this a known bug? Can I do anything other than deaktivating the lock screen after suspend? I use this laptop in public and don't really want to deaktivate the lockscreen. I remember having the same problem occasionally, i.e. Xorg would lock up after deactivating the screenlock on OS 12.3 and only the mouse pointer would move. So I updated Xorg from the X11:XOrg repository and encountered https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59771 , which can be fixed by applying the patch in https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59771#c17. If you update from X11:XOrg be aware that it breaks synaptiks and another patch is needed for it.

Thank you for the answer. Is there a chance to get a patched version of XOrg from a repository anytime soon?

Yes, I patched them both and published them in OBS. The repository to add is http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/auxsvr/openSUSE_12.2/home:au... . Feedback is welcome.

Today, I installed the update for KDE and there was also an update for X. Couldn't do it before. That update solved my problem, so I didn't install the patched X.org from the repository above. But thanks for the help, anyway.
