[opensuse-kde] KDE:Qt repository changes
Hello, the KDE:Qt5 repository hierarchy in the OBS is going to be reorganized, and projects are going to get moved around. The plan is as follows: - Remove very old projects no longer used: KDE:Active, KDE:Qt5{2,3,4,5}, KDE:Qt4{4,6}, KDE:Qt:STABLE, KDE:Netbook - Move all Qt5 repositories as subprojects of KDE:Qt, for example KDE:Qt59 becomes KDE:Qt:5.9 - Remove unsupported Qt versions: Qt 5.7, Qt 5.8. - Add a new repository for Qt 5.10: KDE:Qt:5.10 This might impact 42.1 users (that should upgrade) that use the KDE:Qt56 repository to use newer KDE software. They should change the URL of the repository to point to KDE:Qt:5.6 instead. KDE:Unstable:Qt will not be affected. The projects have been copied, so please update all references to KDE:Qt* *now* so that we can delete the projects at the old location. The changes will take place in one week. -- Luca Beltrame - KDE Forums team KDE Science supporter GPG key ID: A29D259B
Hi, so... what exactly will happen with KDE:Qt5 ? Right now there's QT 5.9.1 in there, which repo am I supposed to use if I want to stay on that one / keep building against 5.9.1? The description of KDE:Qt:5.9 says "Qt 5.9 git snapshots" which is a bit discouraging. Cheers Mathias On 26.09.2017 10:17, Luca Beltrame wrote:

Are the users of Tumbleweed also somewhere affected? -- opensuse:tumbleweed:20170913 Qt: 5.9.1 KDE Frameworks: 5.37.0 kf5-config: 1.0 KDE Plasma: 5.10.5 plasmashell 5.10.5 Kernel: 4.13.1-1-default Linux User 183145 working on a Pentium IV . -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Only if using the third party repositories. If you are using the plain TW repo, you won't be affected. -- Luca Beltrame - KDE Forums team KDE Science supporter GPG key ID: A29D259B

For now it will stay as a development project, meaning that new Qt stable versions that will be submitted to the distro (TW) will end up there. IOW, its state won't change for now. -- Luca Beltrame - KDE Forums team KDE Science supporter GPG key ID: A29D259B
