Where does one turn off sorting and grouping of taskbar items in 4.10?
Right click on the task manager -> Task manager settings -> Grouping -> No grouping
In the same page select "No sorting" from the "Sorting" option.
That's what I expected, but when I tried before asking, I got panel options, not task manager settings. I thought KDE10 had found some new paradigm for adjusting task manager settings.
Not sure if this issue is due to a confusion between panel and task manager, but 'Task Manager settings' is the entry you want.
If you right-click on an empty part of the task bar you'll see 'Task Manager settings' followed by 'Panel settings' in the popup menu, whereas if you click on a task bar entry, you'll see Task Manager settings somewhere after the controls specific to that entry.
At the time of my OP, there was no empty part of the task bar apparent, being fully occupied by tasks that were both sorted and grouped. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
