What actually controls what splash is available, the greeter/DM, or the DE? Is there a TW or Leap package I can install to get Elarun in KF5 instead of a choice between Breeze and nothing?
Do you really mean the splash screen (which is totally unrelated to KDM), or KDM's theme?
The splash seen when KDM isn't running, shortly after starting startx.
You have to configure the latter in KDE4's systemsettings, there is no breeze theme available at all.
According to which: Installed: systemsettings5 Not installed: systemsettings
For the splash screen you should be able to choose between Oxygen, Breeze, and openSUSE on a default installation. The openSUSE one is in plasma5-workspace- openSUSE, Oxygen is in the package oxygen5-style, which you probably don't have installed.
Thanks Wolfgang. Installing oxygen5-style provided the Elarun splash I was after via workspace theme in systemsettings5.
Installing oxygen5-style doesn't work for desktop wallpaper in a fresh Leap installation even with Oxygen as the selected theme. Elarun is used for the splash, but not the desktop wallpaper. Instead of the elarun splash is offered the old Stripes wallpaper along with Breeze and the latest openSUSE default. I would think the splash and the wallpaper would use the same image. Do they not? What package holds the elarun wallpaper? It's not in breeze5-wallpapers or plasma5-workspace-wallpapers. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
