You may find an application that is called kappfinder - on my system it is found in kmenu - settings - menu updating tool. This finds applications and adds them to the menu. Try this and see if it finds the apps you have lost.
No such program, I am running SuSE 9.1 with KDE 3.2.3, no Settings on the Kmenu. And I can't find kappfinder with a Software search in the control panel. Any other ways to recoup my icons or get kappfinder?
Hi Robert, You have it installed. It comes with kdebase3-extra-3.1.4-36.i586.rpm the program is here /opt/kde3/bin/kappfinder if you open a user console and tip in kapp then press "tab" then it will automatically fill the whole name out. Just call it from the command line. Ian
