From following the discussion here, it would appear that upgrading to 9.2 can be a potentially difficult task for laptop users. If anyone contacts SUSE support and gets this touchpad issue resolved I would love to hear about it. Until then, I think I'm going to stick to 9.1. I can't afford to crap out my laptop. Actually, I found that 9.2 works better on my laptop that did 9.1. One of the problems I had with 9.1 was the tapping sensitivity of the touchpad. Under the 2.4 kernel, it worked fine, and under the 2.6 kernel it either did not work at all or was so sensitive, it would respond to a breath. On 9.2, the touchpad sensitivity is back to normal.
The issues I have with 9.2 is that: 1. The CDs do not contain all the packages in the distro. 2. My laptop is unable to read the multi-layer DVD. We had a discussion on this on the SuSE English list. I think this can be solved by providing an archive of the packages left off the CDs. -- Jerry Feldman <gaf@blu.org> Boston Linux and Unix user group http://www.blu.org PGP key id:C5061EA9 PGP Key fingerprint:053C 73EC 3AC1 5C44 3E14 9245 FB00 3ED5 C506 1EA9
