I can confirm. I can see lots of openSLP SRVLOC Service Requests to IP 239.255.255.253 while ksysguard is running. This IP is absolutely unknown to me and belongs to noone (it's reserved for IANA, so not assigned to anyone) I straced it down to be sure. I get a lot of socket opens exactly like this: # strace -f ksysguard [...} [pid 6858] socket(PF_INET, SOCK_DGRAM, IPPROTO_IP) = 17 [pid 6858] setsockopt(17, SOL_IP, IP_MULTICAST_IF, [50374848], 4) = 0 [pid 6858] sendto(17, "\2\1\0\0007 \0\0\0\0\f\24\0\2en\0\0\0\26service:ksys"..., 55, 0x4000, {sa_family=AF_INET, sin_port=htons(427), sin_addr=inet_addr("239.255.255.253")}, 16) = 55 [pid 6858] select(18, [17], NULL, NULL, {0, 750000}) = 0 (Timeout) [pid 6858] close(17) = 0 [...] Does anyone know what's going on here?
