Well, just because the package is available in the distribution doesn't mean it has to be included on the Live media. And those are just wallpapers (i.e. image files), it doesn't really matter whether they are still updated/released regularly or even maintained upstream at all IMHO. But I don't have a strong opinion on that either way...
