[opensuse-kde] How do I import kDEPIM3 email to kdepim4 ?

For a long time now, I have been using the KDE3 version of kontact (KDEPIM3) for all my email. I'm trying to migrate this over to the version of KDEPIM4 that comes with opensuse 42.2. I just can't figure out how to do it. I've tried using the mail exporter tool, setting the program to look at a copy of .kde/share/apps/kmail/mail, but it never starts downloading anything. Hi, after upgrading to okular 16.12 from 16.08 I cannot find the way to choose the source of paper. In 16.08 it was under properties-advanced. Now in 16.12 under properties the place for advanced is ocuppied by "Job options" which does not offer the possibility to change the source of paper. Am I missing something? Hello, I have removed older repositories on KDE:Unstable:Extra, in paricular openSUSE 13.1 and 13.2, which are both EOL'd. This is an effort to clean up the KDE:(Unstable):Extra repository, which has become a kind of dumping ground for everything. Hello, in an effort to save build power and reorganize repositories where it makes sense, we're removing support for 13.2 in the KDE: repositories. This is due to the fact that 13.2 is now EOL'd and the base system is so old that it's difficult to get new dependencies there. For a similar reason we're removing support for Leap 42.1 from KDE:Applications and KDE:Frameworks5 (and the :Unstable equivalents). The same caveats apply there. 42.1 users will still be able to use the LTS variants of Plasma and Frameworks at KDE:Frameworks5:LTS. Support for 42.1 will remain in KDE:Extra, because the dependencies are less strict there. Lastly, KDE:Applications for Leap 42.2 will be adjusted in a way that it will *require* KDE:Frameworks5 to be present. The reasoning is that otherwise it will be impossible to build some parts of the stack (PIM in particular) with the 42.2 base. Hello, is there a hope to become a working KDE KMAIL again ? On my site I have to set always the setting for the Monitors on start from KDE :-(. The next Kmail have a broken Window on start the settings are always lost for window ? It is not longer possible to delete a Folder on a IMAP server and much more ? [opensuse-kde] Auto change wallpaper?

Hi, I am running openSuSE Leap 42.2 with the KDE Plasma 5 desktop. Does anyone have, or know of a script that one could run from crontab that will fetch an image from a known file/disk location and automagically update the wallpaper background? I have a working crontab script that fetches images periodically from off the internet and stores them in a known location under a fixed name. Google searches is not bringing me any joy on this one, I should think it is not all that difficult to do... Incidentally I tried using the slide show feature in configuring the wallpaper but no joy with that approach either... Dunno why not but apparently it does not recognize that an image file was changed/updated by another script, so it does not load a new image at whatever interval it is configured to run.) Hi All, Need some help try to solve some screen corruption issue with Leap 42.2 and plasmashell --version = plasmashell 5.8.3 NVidia - 375.26-19.1 In my account the clock with starts to lose digits after a day or two. Also I have a weather widget installed. On that the temperature display will go away. In my wife's account (or any account I switch to) the clock disappears entirely, again after a day or two. I have tried brand new accounts with the same results. I can get the missing digits back by resizing the taskbar, but after awhile, the digits go away again. I have tried multiple versions of the NVidia driver. I can't really use the Nouveau driver as it deadlocks on me every couple of days. I've different kinds of compositor settings, turning compositor off. I've tried different themes, nothing seems to make a difference. Did a zypper up on host big31 last night and systemsettings kept crashing. KDE system icons were entirely missing after a lot of effort to figure out why and get some, so I installed fresh. Systemsettings5 crashes on the new installation too. Howto extract logging info to find cause for filing new bug report? Searching for systemsettings in summary and crash or fault in comments in last 11 months turns up nothing similar. Breeze is deselected everywhere I noticed, mostly replaced by oxygen*. They were missing for quite a while on host big31. Last night I tried for a while to figure out why and get some, to no avail. So, I installed TW fresh. Thanks Fabian! But we use the displaymanager KDM and i can't find the right location to configure this. I tried to configure in /etc/X11/xorg.conf : Section "ServerFlags" Option "AllowIndirectGLX" "on" or "True" and Option "AllowIndirectGLXProtocol" "on" or "True" EndSection in /etc/X11/xdm/Xservers : :0 local /usr/bin/X -nolisten tcp +iglx -br vt7 in /usr/share/kde4/config/kgm/kdmrc : ServerArgsLocal=-nolisten tcp +iglx But nothing had the effect that the option "+iglx" is adoptd to the commandline. Hello KDE-Team or anyone else! I tried the following xorg-fake : rename /usr/bin/Xorg to Xorg.sav and install a new Xorg with following command: #!/bin/sh exec /usr/bin/Xorg.sav +iglx "$@" Then indirect rendering is configured and all runs well. But this solution to change a systemfile isn't fine because it does not survive an update. I still search for a place in a configuration file . Thanks for any help with this. [opensuse-kde] sddm issues - no keyboard input on resume from suspend / screen lock

One potential accessibility issue (bug) and one question relating to sddm. I'm posting here first since I believe openSUSE has a somewhat customized plasma/sddm compared to upstream, so I want to know if I should post a report to oS Bugzilla. I've done a fresh install of Leap 42.2 with Plasma5 on my x86-64 laptop. When I lock the screen or do a Suspend to RAM, upon resuming there is no cursor in the password field (autologin disabled, lock screen on resume checked in System Settings). I've tried some of the most obvious keys and key combos but nothing is recognized, hence there's no tabbing or modifier keys accessible. A mouse input is obligatory to click in the password field first. The laptop has an nVidia Quadro NVS135M with the proprietary G03 v340.x drivers. Upon reaching the same login screen after a boot, the cursor is blinking ready to take input. ---- As for the question, I have my laptop docked with a second screen hooked up via VGA and unified outputs. The laptop max resolution is 1280x800 whilst the second screen is capable of 1920x1280. During the boot cycle, GRUB (where I have explicitly set 1280x800) passes on to Plymouth (flicker city) and the 2nd screen reverts to 1920x1280. When I log in to Plasma, it has to revert back again to 1280x800. At each change it has to go off, show an additional momentary black screen, then show the new resolution in an overlay. It's all very ugly, probably complicated further by the nVidia driver wanting to shove its splash screen logo into the process. I've had a look through the man pages for sddm.conf and tried producing an example config, but I don't see anything explicitly mentioned for setting screen resolution. There is a placeholder for X server scripts which I know nothing about.
