I cannot add google calendar to korganizer. asks for google acct name, then password allow permission to akonadi to access google services "authorizing token. Hi. I did a fresh Tumbleweed installation recently and TBH I find the selections of default packages less than ideal. I hope you'll find my suggestions helpful: The "worst offender" IMO is that by default there are four (!) different ways exposed to the user via K_Menu icons to add and configure printers: system-config-printer, CUPS icon to launch the web interface, YaST, and KDE System Settings. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwhPBqc5eehzZG11VmNqcXJlM2M https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwhPBqc5eehzY3pzVEFzZUk1S0E (the rendering error in system-config-printer's menu don't make it better) There are also a bunch of applications that cover rather specific niche cases: hugin - Stitching panoramas kruler - Count pixels kompare - Compare files konqueror - Two browsers are overkill. Konqueror is also behind in web technologies; plus you don't seem to track https://github.com/annulen/webkit to ship bug fixes. konversation - IRC is nice but the general public doesn't use it. libqt5-linguist and libQt5Designer5 - For developers only. The latter because of a weird dependency. Several *-32bit are also installed in TW 64bit but that has probably nothing to do with KDE software (didn't check the dependency tree, though). In addition I propose those packages to include in the default installation: discover - More approachable than YaST plasma5-session-wayland - For Plasma 5.6 or 5.7. Install only, not default yet. noto-emoji-fonts & noto-sans-symbols-fonts - Emoji and Dingbats are the norm nowadays. They shouldn't show up as placeholder boxes. Hi All, I am using Tumbleweed (but the same apply to Leap 42.1) and Plasma 5. The icon of KDE start menu (application menu) is K instead of Geeko. I did not tested with KDE 4 or Gnome. By tradition Geeko was there as part of openSUSE branding. Please bring Geeko back so it will be easy to identify that we are running openSUSE and not KDE/Gnome on whatever distro. I don't know how openSUSE marketing team missed this such long time... Also, Geeko is missing from Tumleweed wallpaper (it is present in Leap). I just applied the usb sound card. It shows in yast but no streaming music is heard. I have chosen it at the default. Nothing shows up in the mixer or its setup. Any hints on what to do next. Hi all, Lately, I've been sending emails to the maintainer of the qtcurve-qt git repository but he has not been responding to them. Apparently there is another person submitting patches and maintaining it. To all members, On behalf of Yichao Yu - the maintainer of qtcurve-qt5 git. I am asking if anyone can help him out with the new API and other help in transitioning qtcurve-qt5 into Plasma 5.6x. In particular, there are a few components in the kwin4 decoration that he couldn't easily find a replacement in the new API). It would be helpful if anyone with the knowledge about the new API or the upgrade path to provide some documentation on those. Actually it is not about the auth dialogue itself, this one is desired (by me) as "users" should not be able to apply updates or install software without root authorization ever. What the problem was about was: due to an interaction between zypper and package-kit, the "frequency" setting of the applet is not honored. To be clearer: e.g. if you set the applet to check once per day, it will check every time you have loss of network, everytime you suspend, even every time you switch in certain condition user session on the same machine. If you are running normal security and users are allowed to install packages, you will not notice this because the authorization dialogue does not pop up. Still you did set "check once per day" and it checks x per day instead For what I did understand that will be fixed soon, in the sense that the for originating conflict between zypper and packagekit there will be a work around. AFAIK this is a KDE application. In Leap it does not honor the settings on how often and when to check for tings and is annoying because you have to click away the "authorization" dialogue. a) it could be that I did not search with the right keyword and the bug has been reported. b) it could be that it is already fixed upstream so a report would not be necessary if fixed in Leap 42.2. Does anybody have more detailed info about this? If not I would then report it to be sure I will get rid of it in 42.2. Thank you. --- Alle Postfächer an einem Ort. Well, the update itself in TW works well. It is in Leap that it does check several times a day no matter what. The authorization dialogue you get it if you use "safe file settings" via Yast in Leap. And this is a positive thing, but I would like it not to check 5 ore more times a day when you have set it to one time per day. Seems like this happens every time there's a version update, e.g latest from 5.21.0.x to 5.22.0.x. [opensuse-kde] show seconds in digital clock shows no seconds

In not one of my openSUSE Plasma5 installations do I ever get to see seconds in the digital clock in the taskbar/panel, even though I've selected show seconds in every case. Does this not bother anyone else? I have yet to encounter this problem in any Fedora installation.
