Installing RPMs using Konqueror not Working

I updated KDE to version 3.5.2 from the supplementary folder. Now I can't install RPMs by clicking the <Install Package with YaST> button or use the <Use Directory as Source with YaST> button. where can I find kdebase3-kdm-3.5.1-18?

Hello, Like some other people, I seem to be having trouble with kdebase3-kdm-3.5.2. My system hangs for some time before loading the login screen. After searching on internet, it appears to be kdebase3-kdm-3.5.2-2 doing the evil here. I was advised to downgrade to kdebase3-kdm-3.5.1-18. Now here is the problem: where can I find kdebase3-kdm-3.5.1-18? I'm sorry if this is an obvious question, but I can't seem to find it. Some posts refer to http://www-ftp.lip6.fr/pub/X11/kde/stable/3.5.1/SuSE/ix86/10.0/kdebase3-kdm… but it is no longer there. Downloading kdebase3 doesn't seem to help either because it kdebase3-kdm wasn't included, and I read that I only need to downgrade kdebase3-kdm, not kdebase3. Are the two linked (i.e. is kdebase3-kdm part of kdebase3)? Could it be better to wait for a newer version of kdebase3-kdm? Or can I downgrade to kdebase3-kdm-3.4.2-26 (which I have available) without getting any problems because the rest of KDE is 3.5.2? I didn't have this problem with KDE 3.4 (I upgraded to KDE 3.5) Any help is very much appreciated. oblivious KMail (1.9.1)

Hi all, since some time my KMail 1.9.1 (i'm using it embedded in Kontact) doesnt remember some settings. So i have one Folder, which is filled through a filter, and i want to have it to delete messages after one day. If i make a right click on this folder and then click on "Expire...", i can set it to "1 Day" in both boxes, activate them and also activate the box for deleting these mails. Sometimes this works for a couple of days, sometimes only until next Login. Then it comes with the default settings (all settings are greyed out and if activated, they show "30 days"). What can i do? "Keep password" missing in kdesu in KDE 3.52

Whenever kdesu was used, as in starting YaST, I used to get a "Keep password" option in the window which asked for my root password. This seems to be missing since upgrading to KDE 3.52. Administator mode and and ...

OK, other KDE 3.5.2 users, As well as the KDE control center administrator mode being broken in KDE 3.5.2 build, has anyone noticed that you cannot log into any other GUI interface too? Last evening when trying to run down the graphics problem, I tried to test from another GUI interface, like gnome or XFCE to see if the problem may have something to do with KDE. For each one I chose, I was always booted back into KDE. It's as if KDE suddenly took on a mind of it's own and took over my machine. Anyone else tested this and/or experiencing the same problem? I'm not sure it's not been with us for a while though, because I reverted my setup to the KDE 3.4.2 default setup and it still would not let me boot to other GUIs. Still trying to figure out the why I'm not getting my 3d nor direct rendering too. Always loving to stay on the bleeding edge... :o) Lee

KDE 3.5.2 Control Center Admin Mode Broken?

Hi, Since I've upgraded to KDE 3.5.2, any attempt to activate Administrator mode in a KDE Control Center (not the YaST Control Center) module fails, taking me back to the Control Center's initial page. I'm running on SuSE 10 with KDE 3.5.2 via the Supplementary YaST repository. Has anybody else seen this or heard of it? Does anyone know if there's a fix or work-around? Thanks. Randall Schulz

Mailing list management

Hello SuSE people, Using Kmail 1.9.1 Am subscribed to several mailing list including this one. Designated folders for each list. I use the "Mailing List Management" tool to designate the folders as mailing lists. That works for that session only. If I close Kmail and restart it the setting is lost. Any idea what I can do to make Kmail remember these settings, or is it a bug in Kmail? Bob S.

Distant X connection

Hi, I have no problem connecting my Suse Novell 10.0 box to an other distant Suse Novell 10.0 box, using ssh. Now, I would like to know what to do to use X through ssh. While using local display :0 for current local work, I dream to start the distant KDE on local display :1 and log on as I would be in front of the distant computer. I dont want to use the sharing destop ability of KDE, exepted if it is possible to do it through ssh. Starting by the logging screen or directly entering the user (used by ssh) KDE session, it does not matter wich way. Thant you for the attention paid to this mail, Sincerly, Patrick
