Where to get to get KCharSelect?

I searched in YaST, Packman and Guru's, but I didn't find a package for KCharSelect. Basically I need a KDE equivalent (or better) of Windows' Character Map. I seem to remember this package being available in 9.3 but in 10.0 it's no longer visible under YaST. Please point me to the right place from where I can install this package. Thank you. How to changing between active/passive FTP in Konq

I tried searching the SUSE Help and Google, but I didn't find any answer - maybe I didn't look in the right way - First, does Konqueror (3.42 with SUSE 10 GM) use active or passive mode during FTP? Second, how do I change the mode to be used? I didn't see anything under Configure Konqueror. Thanks, and please don't hit too hard if this is a stupid question. Shriramana.

copy all the CD content to dir and add it to YAST install source

Hi, Sorry that this is not for this list, but it is closest i have now. So the question : I can mount the ISO image and then add the install source to Yast . Example: mount -o loop suse10_cd1.iso /mnt/cd1 This is fine but this way i can add only the first CD . How can i add all 5 CD's as installation source in YAST ? Copy the content of other CD's(i586,i686) in CD1 ?? Any ideas please ? It is very boring to insert CD number XX avery time i install something.

Rendering of <hr> object - Is Konqueror or Firefox at fault?

I designed my website keeping Mozilla SeaMonkey as my testing browser, since of course I did not trust IE. (This was back when I was using Windows full time.) Firefox rendered the same as SeaMonkey, IIRC, since both of them use Gecko anyway. Today I visited my page: http://samvit.org/calendar/astro/wiki.htm#The_Basic_Structure using Konqueror 3.42 on KDE 3.42b (SUSE 10 RC1). I find that the half-length <hr> which I have placed after the "Basic Structure" section before the "Day" section is left-aligned. The same visited using Firefox 1.06 shows the <hr> object centered. Which is the "proper" W3C standard rendering? Or is there no such "proper" rendering and everything just depends on the internal stylesheets that the browser in question uses? P.S: I wonder why the W3C validation service says that no doctype is found for my page even though the very first line is: <!doctype HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> My pages passed HTML Tidy testing back on Windows, as well as online testing, also on Windows. In Linux, both Firefox and Konq show "no doctype" upon testing using the link at the bottom of all my pages. Can anyone shed light on this?

Keyboard Mapping Issue

Good evening to you all! I have a NEC Versa P520 Laptop on which I have SuSE Linux 9.3 Pro running with the KDE system. However, it has this backslash (shift: bar) sitting next to my left shift and z (shift: Z). Since I have to use a lot of backslashes (in LaTeX for example), I NEED this key. I have found out, that this is keycode 86. Does anybody know what I have to do in order to make this key right, because now it gives me < and >, which I already have. It is a US keyboard with that additional key. Anybody? kmail feature request

Please please let there be a way to mark various emails as spam or anything else w/o needing to open them. It's a bad practice especially as I am attempting to make my MS Windows users aware that there *ARE* emails which shouldn't be opened for any reason. I find I cannot do this in kmail. And that gets difficult to explain when demo-ing how easy the Linux "upgrades" to their usual way of doing business is going to be. Case one: Showing a group how easy it is to use Kmail, and they notice that when I try to make a message marked SPAM ( for the manual selection "teaching" of the Baysean filters to the filters ) that each one is OPENED,and they call me on that. I really can't use that old saw about "Linux doesn't have any viruses." Because we all know there will come a day when someone will create one Just to show they can do it ! In other clients ( on other systems and one Java client I used for eons ) one can hold some key down and select one or a range of emails w/o them being "opened" I don't see where that is possible in Kmail. More important: Did you finalised the disc when it was originally burned? Most Linux distros don't read open discs that are not finalised yet. Try it on a known working computer.
