[opensuse-kde3] 11.4 k3b - no mad for mp3?

Guys, Using k3b, I get the configuration warning each time it is started that there is no mp3 decoder found. The error is: Mp3 Audio Decoder plugin not found. K3b could not load or find the Mp3 decoder plugin. This means that you will not be able to create Audio CDs from Mp3 files. Many Linux distributions do not include Mp3 support for legal reasons. Solution: To enable Mp3 support, please install the MAD Mp3 decoding library as well as the K3b MAD Mp3 decoder plugin (the latter may already be installed but not functional due to the missing libmad). Some distributions allow installation of Mp3 support via an online update tool (i.e. SuSE's YOU). I have installed libmad0, so why the error? The packages I have are: 17:05 alchemy:~> rpm -qa | grep mad libmad-devel-0.15.1b-11.1.x86_64 libmad0-32bit-0.15.1b-2.pm.2.1.x86_64 libmad0-0.15.1b-11.1.x86_64 xmms2-plugin-mad-0.7-13.pm.15.6.x86_64 Is there something else I need to set or does the k3b code need to be tweaked to work with libmad0. This is from packman/opensuse-community, right?

There was a package k3b-codecs-1.0.5 in Packman. Not maintained anymore. Try to grab source from http://ftp.twaren.net/Linux/Packman/suse/11.1/src/k3b-1.0.5-1.pm.1.22.src.rp... and rebuild. -- WBR Kyrill -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+help@opensuse.org
