[opensuse-kde3] KDE3 failing to build in Tumbleweed, maintainer unresponsive
Heads up.
From the Tumbleweed core maintainers:
"* We have kde3 packages failing to build for 3 weeks without any reaction. If nobody steps up to maintain this, I will file delete requests (notice mails went to the maintainers already)." Has Ilya seen these notices? If neither he nor anyone else contacts Dominque soon, he will drop unmaintained KDE3 from factory. Hi Patrick Great! A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. I suggest you contact Ilya directly via email and ask what needs to be done. I've received some notifications via the OBS last night indicating that he is accepting contributions from other KDE3 maintainers, so I hope he will be responsive. Since I stopped working on KDE3 for SUSE releases a long time ago and switched teams a couple of years ago I no longer have any insight into the state of the KDE3 projects @OBS. Hi Patric, I've seen on the announce mail list the following mail from David Sterba (dsterba@suse.cz): Please keep KDE3 as an option. I'll help to fix the build failures, there are only a handful of them and mostly trivial. It would be sad to drop a whole DE just because of that. So I assume at least one competent person is in. I would also like to help with KDE3, if such help is needed. I'm also not sure how much I can do (both competence and resources). At least I started looking into OBS KDE3 project. There is already one request for fix from David.
