[opensuse-kde3] I didn't even know this list existed ....
I'm just trying out KDE3 on Leap15 for the first time. It's fast!. I have not yet sorted out the issue with the dual task manager, but it looks like some auto-start I just need to remove. Is anyone interested in other issues? Observed today - a first start of Konqueror, default site = www.opensuse.org. Complained aboiut the certificate, when I told it to ignore it for this session, it crashed. Repeated attempts only produced repeated crashes. kpatience - unable to start, looks like a crash. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (25.2°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - your free DNS host, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+owner@opensuse.org

Hmm, I haven't used konqueror as a browser in a long time. I suspect the certificate parts of the code haven't been tweaked in quite a while. I have my konqueror shortcut set the launch 'konqueror --profile filemanagement'. On 42.3 kpatients works. (I just wasted 20 minutes in 3 games, 2-wins 1-loss) :p Open konsole in 15 and run it from the command line 'kpat' and see if there are any warnings dumped to the screen. -- David C. Per, Just loaded kdegames3 on 15 and kpatience worked fine here (I even won the first round :) See: http://paste.opensuse.org/47319753 -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+owner@opensuse.org

Hi David I can run 'kpat' just fine, but when I try this: task manager -> applications -> games -> card games -> top entry (kpatience) I get a starting entry in the task menu, rotating icon, after a few seconds nothing. -- Posted with knode from kde3 :-) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+owner@opensuse.org

Trying the same just now, and konqueror complains that the certificate is invalid. (which it isn't). I guess it's will crash if I ask to temporarily accept the certificate. -- Posted with knode on KDE3. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+owner@opensuse.org

When I tried it without detaching it, it worked just fine. I woudn't use KDE3 konqueror. It hasn't been updated. I would use firefox or somethig similar. Gianluca On Fri, 10 Aug 2018, Per Jessen wrote:

Curiosity. Has anyone installed on Leap 15 KDE3 alongside plasma? Can both co-exist and does KDE3 start normally when KDE4/plasma packages are installed on the same system? Thanks, Gianluca On Fri, 10 Aug 2018, Gianluca Interlandi wrote:

Oh certainly, me too. Yup, that is what I am running.

It looks like it, so far. I haven't used it much yet. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (24.2°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - free dynamic DNS, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+owner@opensuse.org
I understand. Fixing konqueror would probably be hard because of all the security issues and because web development is advancing very fast. Gianluca On Sat, 11 Aug 2018, Per Jessen wrote:
