They only material issue I have seen, pre and post update, is Firefox4 was a bit flaky, rendering-wise. So I downgraded to 3.6.16 and it's better. This was before the FF4 Final patch came out. I'm still with 3.6.16.
I've run both FF4 and 3.6.16. FF4 renders fine on my laptop -- although I cannot see any benefit in the upgrade. (I don't open 50 tabs at once)
Also, in both FF3 and FF$, downloading embedded .pdf's links into the browser window is hit and miss; I have to hit refresh a few times for it to "take". Using Acroreader only (with its plugins, I guess).
I have just used the native KPDF. Rather than viewing .pdfs in the browser, I just save to tmp and use kpdf. No issues there :p Glad to know kde3 is working well for you. It has been rock solid after the kcontrol fix. Only remaining issues I have is sftp://host:port/path/file not working in konqueror. I have been using fish instead. -- David C.
