Regardless whether this is related, it is good to be aware that doing an 'update' with the packman repository enabled will try and use the SoQt packages from packman instead of those in KDE:/KDE3. On the last update, I disabled the packman repo just to eliminate the conflict while I worked the kdebase3 issue. All is working well now with the latest updates applied. -- David C.
