- in my opinion also, the better way to go, which is what I did when installing Linux on my HP 450-G2 Probook (Windows 10 pre-installed in UEFI/GPT mode). Adding the rEFInd boot manager added a good finishing touch.
But, as it said, a GPT can be replaced by a 'BIOS' MBR partition table, using e.g. Gparted, if that is your considered aim.
