Hi all,
while I more or less gave up with kmail, another problem is seriously annoying
me (opensuse 12.1 x64): KNetworkmanager doesn't work with wireless LAN.
Everything is fine with cable connections. I can also see the wireless
networks available, but as soon as I choose one to connect with, simply
nothing happens (no "trying to connect" symbol etc.) Any ideas? How can I
trace where the problem is?
Cheers
Carolin

Ilya, Robert, All,
When you develop patches for gcc47, please drop a note to the list if you can.
I have done the same thing for TDE. Currently we are collecting gcc47 patches at:
http://bugs.pearsoncomputing.net/show_bug.cgi?id=958
If you have a link to any you have done so far, please drop me a note. Thanks.
We should do the same thing for libpng15 as well. For TDE, that's:

Yesterday I've updated to OpenSUSE 12.1 and now I am frustrated with a rather annoying problem. The icons under KDE3 often turn black or, sometime, transparent (or, at least, became black when I move the mouse to them on the panel). This often occurs spontaneously, but virtually every time I hibernate/resume the computer. Note that there is no such effect under XFCE (even for KDE3 applications).
Maybe this problem correlates with the fact that there is no bootsplash (splashy exits with an error) after the upgrade, but I am not sure.

Hello,
I have been following this thread carefully because I have the exact same
problem as Maurice, SuSE 12.1, KDE 3.5.10. Also tried all of the
instructions with no result.
I can insert a camera card into my card reader and it brings up Device
Notifier as does a variety of USB devices. (external hard drive, mp3 player
etc.) The only thing that does not is a CD or DVD when inserted. I can,
however, play a movie or listed to an audio CD by opening a appropriate
application, or rip a CD or DVD with K3B.
I notice in Control Center > Peripherals > Media > Acvanced that there are
two grayed out lines above the autostart line/checkbox that seem tohave
something to do with HAL but an not sure. Is that correct?
I have been living with this sice 12.1 camee out but this is not the wayit
should work and is very frustrating. Since Maurice and I have the identical
problem there must be others too.

All,
After recent updates, the xterm background went from dark to light. Any idea
what change cause this? This is on 11.4. Not a big deal, but strange to have happen.
Also, sidenote: When you see Ilya, Serghei and Will all on the list, the
future of kde3/trinity looks bright indeed.
Anybody have a digikam patch for libpng15 yet?

Main repo: uses HAL
KDE:KDE3 repo: uses HAL
In both cases need hald service enabled in Yast.
openSUSE 12.1
Main repo: uses devmon
KDE:KDE3 repo: uses udisks-glue
KDE:KDE3:HAL-enabled repo: uses HAL (needs hald service enabled in Yast)
openSUSE:Factory
Main repo: uses devmon (but this will change to udisks-glue in the coming days)
KDE:KDE3 repo: uses udisks-glue
KDE:KDE3:HAL-enabled repo: uses HAL (needs hald service enabled in Yast)

Why not backport Solid to KDE3? You would benefit from KDE4's work tracking upstream changes instead of reinventing the wheel. It is almost pure Qt code and has been simplified recently.
Will
I'm using Opensuse 11.1 (with evergreen) and KDE 3.5's version of KDEPIM
(3.5.10).
The length of the window showing which filter I have selected in
kaddressbook's search toolbar is way too short. I want to see the complete
name of the filter I have selected, not just the beginning of it.
How can I adjust this window?
(I can find columnwidths in .kde/share/config/kaddressbookrc, but no
explanation of how they work)
