Hello there, i wanted to package a few libs/programs developed using the Eclipse IDE. While with netbeans this seems easy enough (because ant scripts are distributed as well) this seems to be a major issue for eclipse users. I don't really use eclipse, so i was wondering if anybody could help out here what to do in Eclipse to deliver an config file to build on the command line (for packaging). Another idea is: I think we should include a page on the wiki for developers with information on how to provide source code to easily package it. cheers, Denny -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-java+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-java+help@opensuse.org

But you have to adjust the dependencies each time a new dependency is changed in eclipse.
But there are good news: the new eclipse (called ganymede) can build a runnable jar file from eclipse run configuration . If you have some projects which run in the eclipse environment klick on file/export, choose runable jar and the current run configuration - and you get a runnable jar... The idea is to take the source package and build it WITHIN the OBS, which brings some advantages.
Greetings Martin
I thought eclipse could do better than that. :-( Importing into netbeans might be a solution to get any kind of buildable version. Thanks, Denny -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-java+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-java+help@opensuse.org

With some help from mmarek, I've created step-by-step HOWTO in the wiki. http://en.opensuse.org/Java/Packaging/Eclipse_projects This approach produces (AFAIK) a usable and standard build.xml.
