I am facing some problems with SLES 10 installation on Ia64 architecture. Problem: • This is the message we are getting while installing SUSE 10 on rx2600 (IA64) m/c. Uncompressing Linux...done Loading file initrd...done

Machine Architecture is IA64 Machine model is rx2600
Have any one installed SLES 10 on ia64 architecture ? Have any one of you faced these kind of problem ?

Please read the release notes, especially the part about the serial console. You probably just want to remove the console parameter.

I dont know how to remove console parameter. Please let me know more on " HOW to install SLES10 on ia64 machine and how to remove console parameter"

As an example from a SLES 10/ia64 system with a console value set.
image = vmlinuz ###Don't change this comment - YaST2 identifier: Original name: linux###

What is being suggested is something like
image = vmlinuz ###Don't change this comment - YaST2 identifier: Original name: linux###
label = Linux append = "splash=silent thash_entries=2097152 kdb=on" initrd = initrd root = /dev/sda3
