For those with VPN access: http://forum.infra.opensuse.org Running on SLES12SP5 - Lars installed a VM for me yesterday. This is still vBulletin 4.2.2p4, raw copy from Provo. It should also be available at, may or may not quite work: https://forums-nbg.opensuse.org My own view of the above is screwed up due to a baseurl = http://forums-nbg.opensuse.org - yours might work. There is some caching going on, somewhere. I have not done anything to the database except import it, including whatever character set problems it contains. Next thing to sort out - authentication. iChain anyone? -- Per Jessen, Zürich (9.4°C) Member, openSUSE Heroes -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: heroes+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: heroes+owner@opensuse.org

The above should be working fine now. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (10.4°C) Member, openSUSE Heroes -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: heroes+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: heroes+owner@opensuse.org

The above should be working fine now. Wow Per. great job. Encoding looks OK now. Guess the login system is the next bit?

At least I have copied the encoding _and_ the problems :-) - you can still find some double encodings in the German forums, usually dating back to 2010 or thereabouts. Yes, the next hurdle is login/authentication. Once authentication is working, the rest should be easy: a) reduce TTL for forums.o.o b) disable forums in Provo ("currently off-line" message) c) new database export - Jared. d) import database export - me. e) update forums.o.o to our IP(s). f) enable forums. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (17.8°C) Member, openSUSE Heroes -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: heroes+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: heroes+owner@opensuse.org

I would precede this with a few days' notice (a week, ideally, if we can) to put a notice up that says the forums will be offline to be moved to a new host. We can also communicate that through social media. But otherwise, this process looks good to me. -- Jim Henderson Please keep on-topic replies on the list so everyone benefits -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: heroes+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: heroes+owner@opensuse.org

Yes, I agree - in theory it ought to take no more than 30mins, but Jared and I are not on the same timezone. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (10.5°C) Member, openSUSE Heroes -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: heroes+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: heroes+owner@opensuse.org
