I have been reading a lot about PSK-31 and; I think, digipan for windows. Is there a linux alternative that has all the features of digipan? One of the latest issues of QST talks about a kit for PSK-31 on 80 meters, once again they mention needing the windows software. Is anyone using a linus alternative, I don't do windows at all, not even a little bit and hate to start buying windows software this late in the game.

Hello Joe. I have used three Linux PSK31 programs and find that they are all rather basic in operation, although they work well. None of them have all the "bells and whistles" which the Windows programs Digipan, or my favourite PSK program which is PSK-PAL, have. With SuSE Linux, there is GPSK - but it hasn't a waterfall. Another which I have tried, LinPSK has a waterfall as has TWPSK . But this has the least facilities of the three. So I am afraid that it is a case of trying them. I haven't installed it yet, but I have heard that a program called KPSK is a very good one. As soon as my SuSE7.1 arrives and is installed, I am going to try KPSK. Unfortunately I can't be of any more help. 73 de Keith G4JVX
