Subject: SUSE 8.0 WIRELESS LAN NOT WORKING

Hi SUSE Fans,

I recently upgraded my IBM 600 Laptop to SUSE's new version (8.0).  I was
using version 7.3 and had my hardwire pcmcia card and my Orinoco wireless
pcmcia card working perfectly.  There were many articles out there to help
with the setup and the wireless tools package.

Since I upgraded to versionn 8.0, my wireless no longer functions and I
cannot figure out the setup.  On the SUSE site, I found a statement that
they have completely redesigned the network part of their product.  Of
course, they offer no help in their database or never on their "free"
support.  They say that they do not support laptops with the "free" support
--- they are sounding more like RedHat everyday.  The YAST2 has a
completely new look for network card setup and if you use pcmcia option,
the nic card names are different than the names shown with the ifconfig -a
command.   If I try to do an iwconfig with either name, it does not work.

HAS ANYONE SUCCESSFULLY SETUP A WIRELESS WITH VERSION 8.0?  PLEASE HELP ME.
I am ready to drop version 8.0 and return to 7.3 although I like some of
the new things in 8.0.

PLEASE respond back to me at:
