[opensuse-gnome] bad interaction between gnome/gdm and systemd?
Hi all, I run a computer lab that was recently upgraded to OpenSUSE 12.3. We've found that after some period of use (many users logging in and logging out), something in the contents of /run/systemd/sessions/ causes Gnome to start crashing at login. I've filed a bug about this here: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=840055 In particular, I've found that gnome/gdm stops working after untarring the contents of run-systemd-sessions.tar.gz (from Comment 4 of bug 840055) into /run/systemd/sessions/ . GDM seems to hang, and if GDM is bypassed, gnome-shell crashes back to the login screen. Likewise, if I delete the contents of /run/systemd/sessions/ , Gnome and GDM start working again. Has anyone run into this issue before? Any hints on how to resolve it? -- Jim Faulkner / james.faulkner@yale.edu Systems Administrator, Unix Systems, Production Services Yale University Information Technology Services (ITS) =============================================================== NOTE: Yale ITS will NEVER request passwords or other personal information via email.
