The patch is NOP (= no operation). Don't apply it, it does not fix anything. This is equal to the patch proposed in the Opera mailing list (return if DISPLAY is not set), but this check is already part of the gtk2 code in 10.3 (just one line above there is the code doing the same). The real fix for 10.3 is not known. You can try to degrade flash to the previous version and let me know, whether this problem disappeared.
Unfortunately that's the only solution of the problem.
But even if you will say yes, I don't know the real source of the problem. And because both Opera and Flash have closed source code, it may be impossible to find the fix.
I tried with 9.50 beta on my Factory installation and the new Flash works just fine there, but I don't want to use Opera beta on my 10.3.
