keepalived is used for monitoring real servers within a Linux Virtual
Server (LVS) cluster. keepalived can be configured to remove real
servers from the cluster pool if it stops responding, as well as send a
notification email to make the admin aware of the service failure.
Business case (Partner benefit):
: keepalived is a very nice, simple, and yet powerful
failover monitoring system as well as LVS director engine. pacemaker
can be nice, but in many cases it may be too much for the job needed,
this is where keepalived can come in and make a network router with
backup completely available.
