Feature changed by: Mindaugas Baranauskas (embar-) Feature #308378, revision 4 Title: Add simple selection of partitions in installation process - openSUSE-11.3: Unconfirmed + openSUSE-11.3: Rejected by Mindaugas Baranauskas (embar-) + reject reason: not realised for 11.3 Priority Requester: Important Requested by: Mindaugas Baranauskas (embar-) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: Need option for simple partitions asigning to mount points in installation. In openSUSE installation from DVD, the selection of partitions of system – isn't friendly to new user. We could add option to simple (and more grafical) management of partitions. Now in comparing this installation step in openSUSE, Fedora, Mandriva and Ubuntu: our openSUSE is most uncomfortable (a lot of mouse clicks)! Ubuntu 9.10 and Fedora 12 provides simpler management; And Mandriva 2010.0 surprized – is the clearest for beginig user. The Mandriva way: Press "Use existting partition" and "Next" See collumn of partitions and near the collumn of mount points, that can be changed by click :) That's all! The partition with mount point "/" – will be automaticaly formated. I expect, that for most users – this is the most desireble way. Discussion: #1: Robert Davies (robopensuse) (2011-07-04 06:35:40) I generally find no short cuts, if I want it right I have to disable suggestions and set everything myself in expert partitioner. Would be much better to have simplified, choose partions, size & mount point. Then have chance to set default format & fstab options (with check boxes for RO, noauto), then the actual detailed options where they differ. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/308378
